3D Week 07, Bake Maps and Digital Painting for a Prop

This week we took the low res cannon model into Substance Painter and baked the normal maps from the high res cannon as well as giving the prop other textures to give it the look of wear and tear from use. Additionally we created stamps to use as stencils.

3D Week 06, Cannon Scuplt

This week we expanded upon the cannon, first correcting it's UVs:


Next, we made a higher polycount version of the model:


Finally, we took the model into ZBrush and scultped detail into it:

3D Week 05, Cannon Proxy Model


This week we created a cannon proxy model. First we set up the scale:

3D Week 04, Legos Part 2

This week our class broke into four teams each tackling a different part of a combined environment. I was on the character team and modeled the robot arm by building upon classmate Ryan Hill's work and the head separately (approx. 2 hours):



Next the pieces were textured (approx. 45 minutes):





Finally, these were brought into UE4 and assigned variations on this material before being added to a blueprint of the final character (approx 1 hr):

3D Week 03, Lego Level

The final product for our lego level. Combining the level and tweaking took about an hour. My individual piece, the center tiny house, took about four hours, and my lego piece took about an hour.

3D Week 03, Lego Team

For the next project, modelling legos, our team is myself, Chelsea, and Yan. We've decided this week to construct a few simple objects for a city scene.
